ARCMTL was proud to be a part of the 54th annual conference of the Association for Recorded Sound Collections this past May. Sadly, due to the pandemic, it couldn’t take place in Montreal physically as planned, but a number of presentations and discussions featuring Montreal archives, museums, record labels and more, are available online here, such as this round-table discussion that Arcmtl participated in; these presentations on Félix Leclerc and Patsy Gallant, as well as the keynote presentation byMusée des Ondes Berliner, which recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of radio broadcasting in Montréal (and Canada) on CKUT radio.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, Arcmtl will be bringing back the Grande printed art fair in some form this summer. We also are planning for our art book fair and conference Volume 3 for October, as well as Expozine in the fall.

In the meantime, we’ll be putting more content from our vast archives of Montreal ephemera online on our blog here as well as on our website devoted to Montreal’s 1960s – 1970s . Check out our classic interviews like this one with legendary music journalist Juan Rodriguez, or with this avid concert-goer Allan Youster.
